Now that the holidays and (what seemed like) endless travel are over, it is time to start thinking about a really important upcoming event: the Super Bowl! Whether your team is still in the mix doesn't really matter because we all know that the Super Bowl is really about the food. Now I understand the Super Bowl is not synonymous with healthy food or vegan food for that matter, but I think it is a great time to work on your WFPB cooking skills. Because what better place to share the healthiest and most delicious way of eating than your upcoming Super Bowl Party! Today's recipe is my salsa burger. For this recipe I used the grill as my mode of cooking, but you can always cook these burgers in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 400 F. I have been making various types of bean burgers for a while now, so if salsa isn't your things, make sure to check out my other WFPB vegan burgers. My favorite toppings for these burgers are definitely fresh lettuce and a dollop of even more spicy salsa. If you go ahead and try this recipe, let me know what you think and share a picture on my Facebook page of how it turned out!

Here's what you will need!
2 cups oats
1 cup cooked black beans
1 cup cooked brown rice
1/4 cup salsa
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Food Processor
Directions:
Add all of the ingredients into the food processor
Process for 60 - 90 seconds (stopping and scraping down the sides if needed)
Form processed mixture into patties
Grill on medium - high heat for 5-8 minutes on each side
Enjoy!

The recipe says 2 cups oats but in your demo you say 1 cup oats. Which is it, please? I've already added 2 cups oats.
I've made the salsa burgers 3 times. My hubby is new to this way of eating and actually really liked them. I have some in the oven right now and forgot to put in the rice! Yikes! Hope they still turn out!
Hi there. Fairly New to plant base. I have tried burger recipes and was hoping for this one. Maybe I did something wrong. The mixture out of my ninja seemed tasteless-maybe I over processed and after baking I had hockey pucks. I will try again because this recipe is simple. I even watched your video which I never do. Have you baked them. Suggestions???
