Summer is almost here! I know a lot of you may still be under snow and battling the cold for a few more weeks or months, but I can already see the light ahead. And when summer gets here that means it is time to heat up the grill and keep it rolling throughout the season. And having a great whole food plant based option to be able to throw onto the grill was a big reason why I was able to get my dad to jump on board with this way of eating. And personally as someone who grew up loving grilled foods, I have made it my job to keep coming up with great healthy vegan options for the "barbie"! My vegan "porkless" burgers were such a hit last summer that I wanted to revamp them a little bit, simplifying the recipe and getting a more thorough video tutorial posted. If you have enjoyed my past burger recipes, I know you will love these ones! And if you do not have a grill, don't worry these can always be baked in the oven on parchment at 425 F for 25-30 minutes.

If you go ahead and try this recipe, let me know what you think and share a picture on my Facebook page of how it turned out!
Here's what you need! (Serves 6+)
3 cups cooked black & red beans (drained and rinsed)
2 cup cooked brown rice
1 cup quick cooking oats (old fashion will also work)
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tbs dry sage
1 tbs spicy mustard
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp clove
1/8 tsp nutmeg
Directions:
Add all of the ingredients into your stand mixer or a large bowl
Mix on a low setting or by hand for 3-5 minutes
Form into patties
Preheat the grill (400 F+)
Place the patties onto the grill
Grill on each side for 3-5 minutes (or until the patties release from the grill)
Add your favorite toppings and condiments
Enjoy!

Can. I do them somehow in the oven? If yes then how? Please answear:) also i have to say that i am very impressed by how good it have to taste and it is vegan and the most important WFPB;) love you for all the recipies. I have just found your blog and cant wait to do every tasty thing you created
If I freeze the burgers, should I thaw the patty before grilling?
two TABLEspoons of dried sage seems like a lot. are you sure it's tablespoons and not TEAspoons?
Where can I find that patty press?
My husband and I made these tonight! I would highly recommend mixing in the stand mixer. That really helped to improve the texture. These were yummy! Will definitely be in our dinner rotation!
